U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $10.9 Million for Infrastructure Improvement Projects to Support Economic Development in Four States
WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced $10.9 million in awards for infrastructure improvement projects in four states. The awards were provided through EDA’s Fiscal Year 2025 Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance program, which helps communities revitalize and upgrade their physical infrastructure to attract new industries and strengthen local economies.
The EDA awards announced today are:
- Fennimore, Wisconsin: $3.2 million for roadway, water and wastewater infrastructure improvements to support industrial park expansion and create jobs in the region.
- Perryville, Missouri: $2.9 million for airport renovations to support the development of an aircraft maintenance workforce training facility.
- East Palestine, Ohio: $2.4 million to support the construction of a new industrial park to create jobs in the manufacturing industry.
- Willmar, Minnesota: $2.4 million for infrastructure improvements to support business expansion at the Willmar Industrial Park.
“The Economic Development Administration supports workforce development and infrastructure improvement projects designed to revitalize regional industries and fuel business expansion,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary and Chief Operating Officer Ben Page, performing the nonexclusive duties and functions of the Assistant Secretary.
