Caleb Spencer

Caleb Spencer serves as Chief of Staff at the Economic Development Administration (EDA), where he serves as the senior political appointee. In this capacity, Caleb leads strategic initiatives and oversees operations that drive economic growth, strengthen community resilience, and advance infrastructure development across the United States.

Before joining the Department of Commerce, Caleb spent nearly seven years with Florida’s Department of Financial Services (DFS), working under former Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis from November 2018 to May 2025. Caleb held several leadership roles, including Deputy Chief of Staff, External Affairs Director, and Special Advisor. In these positions, Caleb managed public affairs, built relationships with stakeholders, and guided key agency initiatives.

A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Caleb brings extensive experience in public administration, coalition-building, and government operations at both state and federal levels.
