Angela Belden Martinez is Regional Administrator at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) where she is responsible for the operations of the Denver and Seattle Regional Offices. In this role, she serves as a senior executive directing federal grants and initiatives that support communities in realizing their economic development visions and building long-term resilience.

Prior to this role, Angela served as EDA’s Director of External Affairs, advising the Assistant Secretary on strategic policy issues and managed both the legislative and public affairs work of the agency. Angela brings experience across both the private and public sectors to her work at EDA. Before joining the Department of Commerce, Angela was Vice President of Corporate Communications for the Motion Picture Association of America where she managed global communications efforts for the association and served as a senior advisor to the CEO and member company executives. She also developed business and served clients at two prominent public affairs firms.

Earlier in her career, Angela worked for her hometown congressman and the governor of Indiana. In these roles she served as spokesperson, developed and coordinated media and messaging strategies, and worked closely with external stakeholders. Angela earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University with a double major in Journalism and Political Science.
